# Game sound recordings

## Lombok leaf fans, local preview, 2026-09-21

Reuses the unchanged CC0 pohnpei-leaves.ogg recording credited below. A single
quiet excerpt, capped at 0.9 seconds and gain 0.16, accompanies each fan action.
It is handling foley, not a field recording from Lombok. No butterfly sound.
No new audio asset or licensing change.

## Mauritius frame-drum activity, 2026-09-15

- `mauritius-frame-drum.mp3`: cabled_mess, [Frame drum_oneshot_RAW_10.wav](https://freesound.org/people/cabled_mess/sounds/345630/), published 11 May 2016.
The creator describes a simple frame drum recorded with a Rode NT5 microphone
and Zoom H5 recorder. The sound page offers [CC0](https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/).
- The unchanged public HQ MP3 preview was downloaded from
  `https://cdn.freesound.org/previews/345/345630_5450487-hq.mp3`.
  SHA-256: `780c50a82558f8bd7f0f25ccabbf5c97566f8156918e9fce667e4fb2372bcc1d`.
- Runtime playback skips quiet pre-hit samples, takes up to 0.42 seconds at
original speed/pitch, adjusts gain and fades the last 55 ms. Five hits form
  distinct short phrases for the two instruments. Cancellation stops all voices;
late loading never schedules a delayed strike. Reduced motion is silent.
- This is frame-drum foley for a playful activity, not a field recording of a
Mauritian ravanne, a traditional Sega performance or the collection location.
Subjective listening remains a user review item.

## São Tomé leaf encounter and snail ride, 2026-09-13

Reuses the unchanged CC0 `pohnpei-leaves.ogg` recording credited below.
Original-speed excerpts accompany the lifted/lowered leaf and short movement
over forest litter. Leaf excerpts are 0.7 and 0.5 seconds, at peak targets
0.07 and 0.055. Boarding and climbing-off excerpts are 0.55 and 0.5 seconds,
at peak targets 0.06 and 0.055. Short fades bound each cue, and only one voice plays.
This is handling foley, not an animal call or recording from the collection site.
Loading begins after a gesture. Cancelling the action stops sound, late decode
results cannot start playback, and reduced-motion presentation remains silent.
No new audio file or additional required public attribution is introduced.
Subjective listening and Safari playback remain manual checks.

## Pohnpei birdwatching and leaf sled, 2026-09-13

- `pohnpei-lorikeet.mp3`: [Pohnpei lorikeet call, Todd Mark, XC75751](https://xeno-canto.org/75751).
Recorded in October 2008 at The Village Eco-Lodge, Pohnpei, Federated States
of Micronesia. The recording identifies the species and call, not a call
recorded at the QG4739 collection spot.
  Licensed [CC BY-NC-SA 3.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/).
  Downloaded unchanged from
  `https://xeno-canto.org/sounds/uploaded/CLKPHLYUHA/trichoglossus2village.mp3`.
  479372 bytes. SHA-256
  `ccd3d0e743dbe4cfdd7aed36d085fecc0f11eaaa7546c4d46faa92b86cbf2be4`.
The 0.3 to 3.1 second playback excerpt uses level adjustment and short fades,
retaining original pitch and speed. This adaptation is also CC BY-NC-SA 3.0.
Public attribution links to the recording and licence in the Game's sources.
- `pohnpei-leaves.ogg`: [Random Sounds Samples, Brandon Morris (Augmentality), posted by HaelDB](https://opengameart.org/content/random-sounds-samples).
The creator describes microphone-recorded sounds. The selected file is
`moving leaves stereo.ogg`, downloaded unchanged from
  `https://opengameart.org/sites/default/files/moving%20leaves%20stereo.ogg`.
Used under the offered [CC0](https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/) option.
  22317 bytes. SHA-256
  `678c0da00ef1092f4be7c2d8c7b22c1c91c5fc8ca1f3f9570ce59de995c0138c`.
Short original-speed excerpts accompany boarding, sliding and stopping.

Audio loads after a user gesture. One bounded foreground voice is active at a
time. Cancellation stops playback, including late decode results. There is no
ambient loop, pitch alteration or synthetic bird call. Subjective listening
and Safari playback remain manual checks.

## Lombok fig hide-and-seek and splashing pool, approved 2026-09-12

- `lombok-splash.wav`: [Splash, small #6, Joseph SARDIN, BigSoundBank 1534](https://bigsoundbank.com/splash-small-6-s1534.html).
A small stone splashing into a pond, recorded outdoors. CC0 verified on the
creator's page. Downloaded unchanged from `https://bigsoundbank.com/UPLOAD/bwf-en/1534.wav`.
  181508 bytes. SHA-256 `abc547867935109ae7e91e6d0b43f27b2427e749e4b90932532f1f57b8959c82`.
Played at original pitch and speed. The revised shared-pool sequence uses
gains 0.14 for the head dip, 0.22 for the female's splash and 0.18 for the
male's reply, at 1500, 2760 and 4060 ms. No synthetic splash layer.
- Fig movement reuses the existing CC0 `reunion-peel.wav` at gain 0.42. Source
and preparation are recorded in the Saint-Benoît section below. This is
fruit-skin handling foley, not a recording of a fig opening itself.

Audio loads after a tap or keyboard gesture. One action and one foreground
voice at a time, with cancellation on dragging, resizing, Home, Escape, scene
change, page hiding and reduced-motion changes. No background loop or synth.
The user approved the final Lombok preview and requested deployment on 2026-09-12.

## Canberra coffee and sulphur-crested cockatoo, 2026-09-09

Both recordings are CC0, verified on their Freesound creator pages. The public
HQ previews are preserved byte-for-byte as the production MP3s.

- [coffee slurp 4 by benkenart, Freesound 568036](https://freesound.org/people/benkenart/sounds/568036/), published 2021-04-14. A real person slurping coffee from a cup.
  Public source: `https://cdn.freesound.org/previews/568/568036_12771108-hq.mp3`.
  File: `canberra-coffee-slurp.mp3`, 18261 bytes.
  SHA-256: `5c3ec26e873b4e86162576643ff9d47a1bef9ceaab8badbb8e03fdf4a193cfc0`.
Playback excerpt: 0.150 to 0.670 s, starting 836 ms into the sip when the cup
reaches the mouth. The male has biscuits, so his eating gesture has no slurp.
- [Parrots - Sulfur-crested Cockatoo by TheKingOfGeeks360, Freesound 844340](https://freesound.org/people/TheKingOfGeeks360/sounds/844340/), published 2026-02-06. The creator identifies an actual sulphur-crested cockatoo's screeching squawk, recorded with an LG Stylus 2022. The recording is tagged aviary.
  Public source: `https://cdn.freesound.org/previews/844/844340_15895934-hq.mp3`.
  File: `canberra-cockatoo.mp3`, 35520 bytes.
  SHA-256: `1ffb49ee61f8fc7c3ddc354a1607b6f2a4337280a0bc561411ea4c624d453a01`.
Playback excerpt: 0.020 to 1.340 s, starting 80 ms into either bird's raid.

The species is correct for the Canberra drawing. This is not a documented
food-stealing call or a recording made in Canberra. Cockatoo contact calls
occur in flight, while different calls have other contexts. See
[Gillies and Brown, Australian Journal of Zoology, DOI 10.1071/ZO23043](https://www.publish.csiro.au/ZO/pdf/ZO23043).
The human slurp is playful drinking foley for the worm, not a nematode recording.

The browser decodes each clip only after a user gesture. Original speed and
pitch are preserved, without looping, synthesis, EQ or overlapping calls.
Excerpt peak amplitudes are capped at 0.32 for the slurp and 0.38 for the bird,
with 12 ms attack and 55 ms release fades. One foreground voice is stopped by
interruption, Escape, Home, scene change, page hiding or reduced-motion change.
Reduced-motion mode skips the sound. Failed audio loading falls back silently.
The approved drawings, text, positions and action timelines are unchanged.

## Kauaʻi fuller pours and wet squeeze, approved for deployment 2026-09-09

Two real recordings by Joseph SARDIN, published as CC0 on BigSoundBank:

- [Cold Water in a Mug #2, recording 3314](https://bigsoundbank.com/cold-water-in-a-mug-2-s3314.html). Water poured into a mug. Original WAV: `https://bigsoundbank.com/UPLOAD/bwf-en/3314.wav`.
- [Sponge and foam, recording 0778](https://bigsoundbank.com/sponge-and-foam-s0778.html). A foamy sponge compressed in a hand. Original WAV: `https://bigsoundbank.com/UPLOAD/bwf-en/0778.wav`.

| Production file | Source excerpt start | Duration | SHA-256 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `kauai-bath-pour-v2.wav` | 3314, 0.350 s | 1.900 s | `50a76447a1efaf0191cfe16e74ec25b2e85eda3e85bf623fa8b174bd92231bbf` |
| `kauai-bath-scoop.wav` | 3314, 2.250 s | 1.550 s | `e8612a61fbdee9d3d1b96313655ddb22d785a25dee9a3f7d74416af41967abaa` |
| `kauai-bath-squeeze.wav` | 0778, 0.400 s | 0.640 s | `7402a8cba56ead7ecbcbfc7d64e0521ccb7ddec5c7dfbec6a7ac09ad44cab94c` |

PCM excerpts are DC-centred, resampled to mono 44100 Hz PCM16, and faded with
12 ms attack and 70 ms release. Peaks are 0.48, 0.42 and 0.40 respectively.
No synthesis, pitch shifting or looping. The pour starts with the visible
stream, and each of two cone compressions plays one short squeeze.

These are water and sponge foley used for the fictional forest bath. They are
not recordings of water striking a worm or of shampoo ginger being squeezed.
The original water/drip files below are preserved but replaced in the runtime
by these excerpts. The existing cloth clip is unchanged. One foreground voice,
gesture-only lazy loading and cancellation remain in place. Source recordings
and the preparation script stay in ignored `tmp/kauai-bath/`. Martyna approved
deployment of this update.

## Kauaʻi QG130 forest bath, approved for deployment 2026-09-09

Real recordings by Joseph SARDIN, released under CC0 on BigSoundBank.

- [Glass of water, filling #1, recording 1242](https://bigsoundbank.com/glass-of-water-filling-1-s1242.html). A plastic bottle filling a small glass. Source WAV: `https://bigsoundbank.com/UPLOAD/bwf-en/1242.wav`.
- [Cleaning glass, recording 0689](https://bigsoundbank.com/cleaning-glass-s0689.html). Cloth friction used as quiet wiping foley. Source WAV: `https://bigsoundbank.com/UPLOAD/bwf-en/0689.wav`.

| Production file | Source excerpt | Duration | SHA-256 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `kauai-bath-pour.wav` | 1242, 0.600 s | 1.400 s | `695e17ddc2b047c60d1e6044648aac0d5d8e3534d406a980d15de94d1fd699c0` |
| `kauai-bath-drip.wav` | 1242, 3.000 s | 0.500 s | `9ec4826779b34f1d496a3aece962dde83342f74dc73f0a5c87b01b191f1503cb` |
| `kauai-bath-cloth.wav` | 0689, 4.200 s | 0.620 s | `4de33d618958a437193aba239eef781c544b56a0eab7215a3364c61c2cf12ed3` |

Original PCM recordings were excerpted, DC-centred and converted to mono 44100 Hz
PCM16 WAV. Linear 14 ms attack and 50 ms release fades. Peak amplitudes are
0.38, 0.26 and 0.30 respectively. No synthesis, looping or pitch shifting.
These are water and cloth foley, not a field recording of shampoo ginger use.
Only one foreground voice plays, following a tap or keyboard gesture. Hiding
the page, stopping an action or changing the scene stops it. Listening approval
is still required. Source files and preparation script stay in ignored `tmp/`.

## Saint-Benoît rain, coats and lychees

Approved for deployment 2026-09-09. All four new recordings are CC0, verified on the
creators' source pages. No synthesised rain, chimes or cartoon bite sounds.

- [Rain and Thunder #1, Joseph SARDIN, BigSoundBank 0124](https://bigsoundbank.com/rain-and-storm-s0124.html).
  Original WAV: `https://bigsoundbank.com/UPLOAD/bwf-en/0124.wav`.
  SHA-256 `d37affc216bd76b5f1964fbafacb19644ac057b00a099d96dff061ec2b5a2643`.
Extract 1.000–12.000 s, excluding the thunder identified at the end of the
  43-second source. Mono downmix at 44100 Hz. Equal-power 0.5 s end/start overlap
  produces a seamless 10.5 s PCM16 loop. Peak 0.5, playback gain 0.32, ducked to
0.12 during a foreground action. Gain rises gradually on starting the rain.
- [Synthetic Coat Rubbed, Joseph SARDIN, BigSoundBank 1104](https://bigsoundbank.com/synthetic-coat-rubbed-s1104.html).
  Original WAV: `https://bigsoundbank.com/UPLOAD/bwf-en/1104.wav`.
  SHA-256 `83083dc075bac4a17955604f096dd07db40a048cd3ea1ab0aebdd84e93d17ef6`.
Extract 1.700–2.500 s. Actual synthetic-coat handling, used quietly as the
raincoats are enabled. Resampled to mono 44100 Hz PCM16, peak 0.28.
- [Peeling a tangerine, MeanRaccoon, Freesound 818126](https://freesound.org/people/MeanRaccoon/sounds/818126/).
  Original public HQ preview: `https://cdn.freesound.org/previews/818/818126_10956972-hq.mp3`.
  SHA-256 `4095205a6a70c207c0cbd97da4dc2fdaef1ca8a8adeecf21eef46b5d9831f44f`.
Extract 2.000–2.650 s after decoding with the existing local FFmpeg. This is
  fruit-skin peeling foley, not a lychee-specific recording. Mono 44100 Hz PCM16,
peak 0.32, two quiet cues aligned to visible peel separation.

- [Banana Munching, qubodup, Freesound 181723](https://freesound.org/people/qubodup/sounds/181723/).
  CC0. Public HQ preview: `https://cdn.freesound.org/previews/181/181723_71257-hq.mp3`.
  Source SHA-256 `045c7bd1a07d4de280b1bcdbf47ec8b613b20e513b68e46fe856a01609301a91`.
Extract 6.180–6.840 s of a real soft-fruit eating recording, used as lychee
eating foley. This is not an actual lychee recording. Decoded to mono 44100 Hz
PCM16, DC removed, 12 ms/65 ms endpoint fades, peak 0.28. Playback gain 0.56
for the larger worm and 0.48 for the male. One short cue begins with the visible
bite at 2790/2940 ms. No pitch shifting, looping, reverb or generated tones.
Waveform and playback timing were checked. Direct listening remains manual.

Coat and peel excerpts have DC removed and short 8 ms/45 ms endpoint fades.
Flower arranging reuses `nambucca-paper-slide.wav`, documented below, only while
the male's wrapping paper lifts and settles. This is paper, not plant-stem audio.

Production SHA-256:

| File | SHA-256 |
| --- | --- |
| reunion-rain.wav | ca544b4a92dc5e9606d4689a59d024bb9880c2117d0c3eba9ed796a96e1165d6 |
| reunion-coat.wav | 9f66d048ec6d265f14934874cf05c914f61707e8b777aa66026b4677e5fd6c61 |
| reunion-peel.wav | 5a7989dd855fe30ee20d0071b85adeba6d3f2eb66f3bf1dd1f70b8eac044caee |

Audio loads only after a gesture. Late loads do not restart cancelled rain.
One foreground voice and one rain loop may coexist. Scene changes, hidden pages
and reduced-motion changes stop both. No inference of rain on the collection date.

## Ahmedabad digging

Source: [Dig With a Shovel, Joseph SARDIN, BigSoundBank 1305](https://bigsoundbank.com/dig-with-a-shovel-s1305.html).
The creator describes digging a hole with a shovel. The page's CC0 licence,
including permission to edit and redistribute, was checked on 2026-09-08.
Original WAV linked in the page metadata:
SHA-256: `034fc52802ec109897c75da84e246fae88d2671192fee610aafe86d8bf0a48bd`.

Three separate excerpts provide one spade stroke and two shorter trowel strokes.
All originate from a real full-size shovel recording, with no pitch shift,
synthetic layers, loops or added reverberation. The smaller-tool excerpts use
shorter takes and quieter playback.

| Production file | Source start | Duration | Peak | SHA-256 |
| --- | ---: | ---: | ---: | --- |
| `ahmedabad-dig-spade.wav` | 3.330 s | 0.650 s | 0.36 | `55c946c597247c1c510107cbbd46a78e1539dc43984d7d058f9608c668acf4e6` |

Original mono 48000 Hz PCM24 converted to mono PCM16 after DC removal,
6 ms entrance/35 ms exit fades and peak normalization. Total 133572 bytes.
Playback gain: spade 0.8, trowel 0.7. Cue starts account for the recorded
transients, aligning maximum sound contact with maximum blade pressure at
1675 ms, 1342.5 ms and 2892.5 ms. Frames delayed by less than 90 ms skip the
corresponding audio lead-in. Expired or unloaded cues remain silent.

Gesture-only loading, caching and cancellation remain in place. Reduced motion
is silent. Kite wind/reel sounds are unchanged. Untouched downloads and the
processing script are retained under ignored `tmp/ahmedabad-audio/`.
Direct listening on real speakers/headphones remains a manual review item.

## Ho Chi Minh City fruit delivery

Three production WAVs total 430548 bytes. Runtime gain reduces these levels
further. Cues stop when an action is interrupted or the page is hidden.
Late downloads never start a delayed sound. Reduced motion remains silent.
Listening on actual speakers/headphones remains a manual review item.

to the listed peak. Brush fades: 12/45 ms. Paper: 8/40 ms. Press: 4/60 ms.
Playback gain 0.7, with quieter male detail strokes and paper return. No added
oscillators, noise layers, reverb, pitch shift or loops. Three genuine brush
takes alternate. Brush audio begins at contact after the 120 ms brush lift.
The press transient is 18 ms into its clip, with the cue at 970 ms.
Screw turning is quiet. Paper movement has separate outward and return cues.

Recordings load only after an activity gesture and are cached. A missed cue
remains silent. Cancellation and page hiding stop playback. Reduced motion is
silent. Untouched downloads, decoded sources and the reproducible processing
script are retained under ignored `tmp/nambucca-audio/`.

## Panama scissors

Source: [Scissors by Joseph SARDIN, BigSoundBank sound 0008](https://bigsoundbank.com/scissors-s0008.html).
The creator describes three closures, three opening/closing actions and one
short closure. This excerpt uses the final short closure, without layering in
synthetic noise. The recording is of scissors, not cutting a leaf.

Production: `panama-scissor-snip.wav`, 35324 bytes, mono 44100 Hz PCM16.
Decoded-source excerpt: 11.565 s for 0.400 s. Linear 4 ms attack and 35 ms
release fades, with gain 1.82 (peak approximately -8 dBFS). No pitch shift,
reverb, repeated cuts or synthetic layers. Production SHA-256:
`77c32b252fcac15bd1bd2888518261704dea6a3f89628a5c76324ed5b669a868`.
Playback gain is 0.8. The cue begins at 1285 ms so its strongest transient,
90 ms into the excerpt, coincides with the visual cut at 1380 ms.

The 35 KB clip loads and decodes on the first cutting gesture, then is reused.
A missed loading deadline is silent, with no late playback or noise substitute.
Escape, other activities and page hiding stop it. Reduced motion stays silent.
The untouched download and decoded source are in ignored `tmp/panama-audio/`.

## Processing and playback

Decoded to mono 44100 Hz PCM16, then excerpted at the positions above.
DC offset removed, with linear 6 ms attack and 35 ms release fades, followed
by peak normalization to -8 dBFS. Exported as mono PCM16 WAV, without pitch
shifting, looping, synthesized layers or added filtering. Playback gain is 0.8.
The four deployed clips total 162464 bytes. Unedited downloaded previews and
local processing material are retained in the ignored task folder
`tmp/araucania-audio/` and are not published with the site.

Bread clips play at the three existing visible bites. The sip plays while
the straw reaches the mouth, for either worm. Sound remains gesture-triggered,
with a single source and cancellation on activity changes, Escape and page hiding.

Playback uses 0.8–6.75 seconds of the bicycle recording, and two short excerpts
from the bean recording, at 1.2–2.35 and 4.2–5.4 seconds. Bicycle peak gain is
capped at 0.13, bean peaks at 0.10 and 0.085. A 60 ms attack avoids clicks and
the bicycle fades over its final 1.15 seconds. Gentle low-pass filtering reduces
sharp mechanical edges. Pitch is unchanged. The bean cues do not overlap each
other. Escape, dragging, resizing, scene changes and page hiding stop the sources.
Failed loading is silent and retryable. Manual listening approval is pending.

The initial chocolate-workshop follow-up reused the CC0 `nambucca-paper-slide.wav`
recorded paper movement above for the bar sleeve at 430 ms, at 55% of the
existing playback gain. No new audio file is added. Pouring, scraping and
chewing remained quiet. The existing bicycle and bean recordings are unchanged.

## Oʻahu chocolate eating, 2026-09-09

This is a recording of actual chocolate eating. Runtime excerpts are
0.80-1.42 s for the larger worm and 6.60-7.24 s for the male. Both begin
1810 ms into the gesture, when the piece has reached the mouth, and end during
the visible chew. The male excerpt is foley for the chocolate-covered
macadamia, not a recording claimed to contain that exact food.
No pitch shifting or synthetic layer is used.

Per-excerpt peak targets are 0.10 and 0.11 with a maximum gain of 0.8,
an 8 ms attack and release of up to 60 ms. The existing paper excerpt plays
at 430 ms for 0.44 s with a peak target of 0.055. Only one voice plays.
Loading is lazy, failures are silent and retryable, and late cues are discarded.
Escape, activity changes, dragging, resizing and page hiding cancel playback.
Timing and level tests passed. Subjective listening remains unverified.

### Bali cacao nib eating reuse, 2026-09-14

The male in Sanda also uses the unchanged CC0 chocolate-eating recording
above. The runtime plays 6.60–7.24 s at the first visible bite, 850 ms into
the gesture, with a peak target of 0.095 and the same bounded gain and fades.
This is eating foley for the cartoon nib, not a recording claimed to contain
roasted cacao nibs or nematodes. No new audio file, pitch shift or synthetic
layer was introduced. Loading starts only on activation. Cancellation,
hiding and resizing stop playback. Subjective listening remains unverified.

Respective file sizes are 138048, 13680 and 74736 bytes.

The electric jack is foley for a motorised lift, not a recording of the actual
Daintree crane. Its excerpts are 0.4-3.0 s on ascent and 0.4-2.8 s on descent,
starting at animation times 1200 and 5400 ms. Peak targets are 0.095 and 0.08.
The complete 0.629 s shutter and 3.882 s instant mechanism start at 950 ms,
with peak targets 0.085 and 0.10. The instant recording contains its own
film-ejection sound. No pitch alteration, synthetic layer or idle loop.
Gain is capped at 0.7 with short attack/release fades. Each recording has one
bounded channel, so camera actions can play over the motor during a ride.
Repeating a camera action stops only its own channel. Escape and scene/lifecycle
cancellation stop all three. Lazy loading, deduplication, independent channels,
cancellation and clip bounds are tested.
Subjective listening remains unverified.

## Oʻahu gift wrapping, 2026-09-09

Real aluminium-foil handling is played at 0.60-1.08 s for the shared box's
liner. An alternate 2.40-2.88 s excerpt was prepared for the superseded paired
version and is not used by the shared action. The lid/ribbon gestures use
the existing CC0 `nambucca-paper-slide.wav`, from 0-0.44 s.
Peak targets are 0.065 for foil and 0.06 for paper, with short attack/release
fades. No pitch change, synthetic layer or idle loop. Sources load on the
first gift gesture. Wrapping/opening cues are bounded and mutually exclusive
with eating/cycling. Escape, movement, resizing, scene changes and page hiding
stop them. File/hash, timing, level, lazy-loading and cleanup tests passed.
Subjective listening remains unverified.

These are conga recordings used as hand-drum foley, not recordings of ka drums
or a traditional gwoka performance. Playback trims leading silence, adjusts
gain, and fades the end of each excerpt (at most 0.65 seconds), without changing
pitch. Each click starts a twelve-beat phrase, with different rhythms for the
two drums. Beats are scheduled on the audio clock with varied accents. Tapping
the same drum during its phrase does not restart it; the other drum swaps
roles and cancels the previous phrase. No idle or automatic repeating loop.
Samples load after a gesture. Movement, scene changes, Escape, resizing and
page hiding cancel playback. Subjective listening remains unverified.

# New Taipei pottery and tea foley reuse, 2026-09-16

No new audio files. The local pottery preview reuses these already-credited CC0 excerpts byte-for-byte:

- `araucania-straw-sip.wav`: [bassboybg, straw sip](https://freesound.org/people/bassboybg/sounds/367058/), for tea sipping.
- `kauai-bath-squeeze.wav`: [Joseph SARDIN, sponge and foam](https://bigsoundbank.com/sponge-and-foam-s0778.html), quiet shaping-contact foley, not a pottery recording.

Sources load on the first relevant gesture. Playback gain is 0.6 for sip
and 0.25 for squeeze, without pitch changes. One bounded action at a time;
no idle loops. Cancellation stops active sources; late downloads never trigger
belated sound. Reduced motion omits these cues. Subjective listening is unverified.

The painting activity and its brush cue were removed in preview pottery-6.

## Réunion JU1375 accessory foley reuse, 2026-09-17

No new recordings or modified audio bytes. Reuses the credited CC0 files:
`araucania-straw-sip.wav` (bassboybg), `pohnpei-leaves.ogg` (Brandon Morris),
`oahu-bike-chain.mp3` (gerfaut83) and `kauai-bath-pour-v2.wav` (Joseph SARDIN).
Sip, leaf handling, mechanical cranking and liquid pouring accompany the visible
actions. The chain recording is mechanical foley, not a cane-press recording;
leaf rustling is not a gecko call. Original speed and pitch, faded excerpts:
sip 0.58 s / gain 0.5; leaves 0.45 s / 0.075; cranking 0.85 s / 0.13;
pouring 1.5 s / 0.23. Sources load after a gesture. Cancellation stops playback;
late decoding cannot trigger audio. Reduced motion is silent.
Subjective listening remains unverified. The earlier stirring-glass cue is no
longer used by this scene.

onset and plays bounded 1.05 s calls / 0.65 s answers, with a soft volume
envelope and unchanged speed/pitch. This is recorded handbell foley for the
fantasy bracelets, not a recording of Seychellois music or local wildlife.
- Audio loads after a user gesture. Cancellation invalidates pending actions
and stops active sources; reduced motion is silent. Subjective listening
  remains unverified.

- Actual hand-lotion rubbing, used as sunscreen foley. Two different 2.1 s
  excerpts begin at 1.2 and 6.1 s, at unchanged pitch/speed. Peak-normalized
target 0.15 (gain capped at 0.7), 60 ms attack and 130 ms release.
- Gesture-only load; cancellation stops voices and prevents late playback.
Reduced motion is silent. Subjective listening remains manual.

- Runtime detects audible onset and plays up to 0.35 s of pop / 1.1 s of blowing,
  at unchanged speed/pitch. Peak targets 0.11 / 0.06, gain capped at 0.8,
15 ms attack and 45 ms release. Fetch/decode follows a gesture; no delayed
playback is scheduled on completion. Cancellation stops sources. Reduced
motion is silent. Subjective listening remains manual.

- Preview 9: the blowing cue now accompanies both kits, once at bubble formation;
the original MP3, gain, duration and pitch are unchanged.

### Salt Lake apricot picnic reuse, 2026-09-18

The picnic reuses `reunion-eat.wav` (qubodup's CC0 **Banana Munching** excerpt,
credited in the Saint-Benoit section above), unchanged. It is soft-fruit foley,
not an apricot-specific recording. Two up-to-0.58 s cues begin at the visible
bites, 3350 and 3700 ms into the picnic. Runtime peak target 0.09, gain capped
at 0.8, 15 ms attack / 45 ms release, original pitch and speed. Gesture-only
loading, cancellation stops voices, and reduced motion remains silent.
Subjective listening remains manual.

### Apricot bite follow-up, preview 3

The previous 0.58 s chewing excerpts overlapped at the 350 ms spacing and
Martyna found the sound strange. Runtime now uses only 0.145-0.335 s of the
existing 0.66 s clip: a 0.19 s bite transient, peak target 0.04 (about 7 dB
quieter than 0.09), unchanged pitch/speed and 15/45 ms fades. The second cue
starts 350 ms later, leaving 160 ms between clips. No prolonged chewing tail
or overlap. Source bytes unchanged; no new asset. Waveform bounds checked;
subjective listening remains manual.

  Four 0.62-second excerpts start at 1.3, 3.1, 5.2 and 7.3 seconds.
Six bounded cues accompany drawing, beginning 2.2 seconds into the action,
730 ms apart, alternating excerpts. Peak target 0.065, gain capped at 0.8.
- `nambucca-paper-slide.wav`: existing unchanged CC0 page-turn recording by
DavidGreck, credited below. Plays for 0.44 seconds during book lifting and
settling at 0.45 and 8.45 seconds; peak target 0.045.

Both use original speed/pitch, 25 ms attack and 65 ms release. Files load only
after a user gesture; a missed decoding deadline stays silent. Escape, other
actions, moving/resizing props, scene changes and hiding the page stop voices.
Reduced motion stays silent. Subjective listening has not been verified.

- `santeuil-organ-long.wav`: longer derivative of the same CC0 barrel-organ source above (licence rechecked 2026-09-19). Source excerpt 1.0-15.4 s, mono PCM16 at 44100 Hz, 40 ms edge fades, original pitch/speed. 1270124 bytes; SHA-256 `2d981255c812ddd7650a84ba9eae2a315f9c83f51ff5e0263a2b6d2192ed63c8`. The two attacks alternate in separate original eight-strum patterns, up to .64/.53 s per hit, peak targets .085/.12. These are plucked nylon-string foley, not recordings of a timple or a traditional Canarian performance. Original pitch and speed retained.
- `kauai-whistle.mp3`: [Short whistle.wav, Sami_Kullström](https://freesound.org/people/Sami_Kullstr%C3%B6m/sounds/388053/), recorded with Samsung Galaxy J5. Unchanged HQ preview: `https://cdn.freesound.org/previews/388/388053_7282645-hq.mp3`. 10539 bytes; SHA-256 `b6147c59943e4dec39d6797ee26610263df0098f69c465f1e6965be0c0c603f6`. Up to .48 s at original pitch/speed, in distinct three/four-note rhythms, peak targets .07/.052. Human whistling foley for imaginary worms, not a species call. Playback reuses the same timing, without recording visitors.

Tenerife's eating reuses the unchanged `reunion-eat.wav` credited above. Each
portion has a .23 s bite excerpt from .04 s (peak target .065) at 1900 ms,
then a quieter .26 s chew from .32 s (peak target .044) at 2340 ms. Both
coincide with the visible mouth movement, at original pitch and speed.
Audio is loaded after interaction, with a four-second bound; late decode does
not trigger delayed playback. Each voice has attack/release fades, interruption
fades over 40 ms, and all activity stops on cancellation, page hiding or leaving
the scene. Reduced motion is silent. Subjective listening remains user review.

Adaptations: separate excerpts, stereo averaged to mono, DC offset removed,
22 ms edge fades, peak normalized to 0.55, resampled to 22050 Hz PCM16 WAV.
Playback speed/pitch is raised slightly to give two playful character voices:

- `kauai-vocal-primary.wav`: source 0–4.68 s, speed 1.04; 4.500 s.
  SHA-256 `aafe5a65f977ddc2215af0babf57a90d01690fd47cc5715b965b5566b318b816`.

The animation follows each excerpt's measured 40 ms amplitude envelope; the
recorder replays those exact files in the same order, with a 350 ms turn-taking
pause. Playback peak targets are .11 and .095. These are playful human vocals,
not nematode calls or a claim of Hawaiian music. No visitor microphone access.
The old whistle remains archived in the repository but is no longer requested
by this scene. The compact source credit uses proper names and a licence
identifier, unchanged across language settings.

## Trivandrum shared shower, 2026-09-20

Reuses the byte-identical CC0 recordings documented above: `kauai-bath-pour-v2.wav`
(Joseph SARDIN 3314) for the 1.9-second stream, `kauai-bath-squeeze.wav`
(Joseph SARDIN 0778) for a quiet wet head rub, and `lombok-splash.wav`
(Joseph SARDIN 1534) for a short shake-off splash. These are illustrative water
and sponge foley, not recordings of worms. Original pitch/speed; no synthesis
or looping. Peak targets .11, .035 and .055 respectively. The small can uses
a 1.55-second pour. Playback starts only after a gesture, follows the visible
action and stops on cancellation. Reduced motion keeps a brief static response.

## Claremont reading and drinks, 2026-09-20

Reuses existing unchanged CC0 recordings documented above:
`nambucca-paper-slide.wav` (DavidGreck, page turning), 0.44 s at peak target
.045; `araucania-straw-sip.wav` (bassboybg), 0.28 s at .055; and
`kauai-bath-pour-v2.wav` (Joseph SARDIN 3314), 1.15 s at .085. Original pitch
and speed, no synthesis or looping. Files load after a visitor gesture. Paper
follows the page movement; drink cues follow visible sipping/pouring.
Cancellation stops playback. Existing source files and licence records retained.

## Tenerife duet preview, 2026-09-20

Reuses the byte-identical `tenerife-strum.mp3` and `tenerife-strum-up.mp3`
credited above. An original 112 BPM rhythmic arrangement has a call, answer,
short exchanges and shared ending. No claim of traditional Canarian music or
authentic timple sound. Both recordings retain original pitch and playback speed.
Leading silence is skipped at the first 12%-of-peak crossing minus 3 ms.
Per-hit excerpts are up to .44 s for down strokes, .30 s for up strokes and
.80 s for the ending. Peak targets are .105 solo / .063 together, multiplied
by accent strength. Six-ms attack, 90-ms release, .2 left/right panning and
4200/6500 Hz lowpass filtering distinguish the players without pitch shifting.
All hits are scheduled against one AudioContext clock, which also drives the
hands and body movement. Cancellation fades and stops future scheduled voices;
loading failure leaves a silent animated fallback, and reduced motion is silent.
No new audio assets added. Subjective listening remains user review.

## Tenerife gourd shaker, 2026-09-20

Runtime excerpts up to .20 s, original pitch/speed, leading-silence trim as
above, .072 peak target times .50/.85 accent. Starts on the shaker's direction
changes at 112 BPM, after the instrument changeover. Existing guitar samples
provide accompaniment only while timples are visible. All future hits cancel
on interruption; reduced motion remains silent. No visitor recording.

  source above): .24-.52 s at 9570 ms (.048 peak), 1.10-1.32 s at 10900 ms
(.04 peak). This is utensil foley, not a claim of recording the illustrated dish.
- Reuses `kauai-bath-pour-v2.wav` (Joseph SARDIN, water poured into a mug,
source above): .30-1.10 s at 7400 ms, peak target .065, as pouring foley.

All use original pitch/speed and short attack/release fades. Load after a gesture,
play once at the relevant action, skip stale cues, cancel all voices on interruption.
Reduced motion is silent. Playback timing is tested; subjective listening remains manual.
